Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective September 17, 2026
This policy explains what happens to your information on nomad.renkara.com, the website for Nomad, and on the Nomad waitlist. Nomad is a product of Renkara Media Group, Inc. ("Renkara," "we," "us"), which is responsible for your information under this policy. The Nomad app is not open yet. When it opens, it will have its own privacy policy; this one covers only this website and the waitlist.
The short version
- The waitlist holds your email address and a few facts about when you joined (section 1).
- We use it for one thing: telling you when Nomad opens. Until you confirm your address, the only email you get is the one asking you to.
- We never sell it, share it for advertising, or add it to any other list.
- Waitlist emails carry no open or click tracking, and every one has a one-click unsubscribe.
- This website sets no cookies. We count visits with Pulse, our own analytics service, which does not store your IP address (section 1).
- You can ask us to delete your waitlist entry at any time (section 6).
1. What we collect
When you join the waitlist. Your email address. Herald, the Renkara service that runs our mailing lists, also records the IP address your request came from, the address of the page you joined from, the time you joined, a "waitlist" label, and whether you have confirmed your address. It stores two random codes with your entry: one for the link that confirms your address and one for the link that unsubscribes it.
Later. The time you confirm, the time you unsubscribe, and whether an email to you bounced, so that we never write to an address that asked us to stop or cannot receive mail.
This website. nomad.renkara.com sets no cookies. It saves your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, and it loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser information when the page loads.
Website analytics. We measure visits to this website with Pulse, Renkara's own analytics service. Pulse runs on our own infrastructure and uses no cookies or other browser storage.
- What each page view records: the page's address and title, the page that linked you here, your browser and operating system (with their versions), your device type, screen size, and language, and your approximate location (country, region, and city).
- Location: Pulse looks it up from your IP address on our own servers.
- Page speed and links: Pulse also measures how quickly the page loads and responds, and which link you clicked when you follow one to another site.
- No IP address is stored. Pulse keeps your IP address with none of this.
- Unique visitors: Pulse counts them with a one-way code made from your IP address and browser. The code changes every day, so Pulse cannot follow you from one day to the next, and nothing connects it to your waitlist entry.
- Server log: Pulse's server access log does include IP addresses, and it expires after one day.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies, and we do not share website analytics with anyone.
2. How we use it
We use your information to:
- Send one email asking you to confirm your address. Until you confirm it, we send you nothing else.
- Tell you when Nomad opens.
- Honor an unsubscribe, and stop writing to an address that bounces.
- Understand, in aggregate, how people find and use this website, so we can improve it.
- Keep the waitlist free of abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, add your address to any other Renkara list, or use it to decide anything about you.
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your waitlist information with your consent, which you give by joining and confirming, and which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. We process website analytics for our legitimate interest in understanding how this website is used, balanced against your rights.
4. Who else receives your information
We share information only with service providers that help us run this website and the waitlist, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their service to us:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting for this website and for Herald, in the United States.
- Twilio SendGrid — delivering waitlist emails.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Renkara. Renkara is a U.S. company, so U.S. authorities can compel disclosure under U.S. law, including the CLOUD Act. If Renkara is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of it, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry, confirmed or not, until you ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed so that we never email it again; ask us, and we will delete it entirely. Website analytics records hold no IP address, and the visitor code in them changes every day. We keep them to see how the site is used over time. Pulse's access log expires after one day.
6. Your rights and choices
- Leave. Every waitlist email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- See, correct, or delete. Email privacy@renkara.com and we will show you what the waitlist holds about you, correct it, or delete it.
- California residents can request to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share it. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.
- EEA and UK residents also have rights to restrict or object to processing and to data portability, and may complain to their local data protection authority.
Send requests to privacy@renkara.com. We respond within 30 days, or within the time your local law allows, and we may need to verify that the address is yours first.
7. How we protect it
This website and Herald use TLS for every request, and access to Herald is limited to the people who run it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Where your information is processed
Renkara operates from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. When the law requires a transfer mechanism for information leaving the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful basis.
9. Children
The waitlist is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change that affects the waitlist, we will tell the waitlist by email before it takes effect. The version and effective date at the top of this page always reflect the current policy.
