Getting started

Start fresh, or bring the trips you already have.

Start a trip in seconds: A name and dates are all it takes. Everything else can come later.
Import from another planner: Bring your Tripsy^® trips across with their days, places, bookings, and costs.
Choose what comes across: Preview what an import found and pick the trips you want.
Import again safely: A trip that is already in Nomad is never duplicated.
Templates: Save any trip of your own as a template, or duplicate a trip, and start the next one from it.
Duplicate a trip: Copy last year's trip with every date shifted forward.

Plan

The trip and its days.

Dates, time zone, and home currency: Every trip knows when and where it happens and which currency to add everything up in.
A status that keeps itself current: Trips move from planning to upcoming to underway to past on their own.
Several destinations: Multi-city trips, with an arrival and a departure for each stop.
A day-by-day itinerary: Flights, check-ins, tables, tours, notes, and free time, in order and at their times.
Ideas: Places and notes with no day yet, waiting until you give them one.
Moving plans: Nomad's API moves a plan to another day or another place in the day; the web app has no drag and drop.
Optimize a day: Put a day's stops in the order that spends the least time getting between them.
Travel time: The time between one stop and the next, filled in for you.
Conflict warnings: Two plans at once, or a flight during a meeting on your calendar, flagged before it becomes a problem.

Everywhere you might go, on one map.

Saved places: A pool of places for the trip, whether or not they are on a day yet.
Place search: Find a restaurant, a museum, or a trailhead by name and save it with its address and hours.
The trip map: Every place on one map, colored by category.
Routes by day: Show a single day's stops with the route that connects them.
Save from the map: Tap a spot on the map to save it, or paste a link to a place.

Bookings and documents

Every reservation, with the details that matter on the day.

Ten kinds of booking: Flights, lodging, car rentals, trains, buses, ferries, restaurants, activities, events, and anything else.
The details, in their own fields: Confirmation numbers, terminals, seats, check-in times, room types, and party sizes.
Import from your email: Forward a confirmation, or let Nomad look through your mailbox, and each one becomes a booking.
A review queue: Everything read from an email waits for you to confirm, edit, or discard it.
No duplicates: A confirmation forwarded twice is still one booking.
Flights across time zones: A flight appears on the day it leaves and the day it lands, in local time at each end.
Documents: E-tickets, boarding passes, visas, and insurance, attached to the trip or to the booking they belong to.
Previews: A thumbnail for every photo and a first-page preview for every PDF.

Built for trips with more than one person on them.

Owners, editors, and viewers: Owners manage the trip, editors plan it, and viewers follow along.
Invite by email or link: Invitations wait until they are accepted, and companions come from your contacts.
One shared plan: Everyone on the trip works from the same plan. Live updates and a view of who else is looking are not in the web app yet.
Comments: Threaded conversations on the trip, on a day's plan, on a place, or on a booking.
Mentions: Mention someone in a comment and they are notified.
Activity log: A record of who changed what, and when.
A link for everyone else: A read-only itinerary and map for family and friends, no account needed.

Packing and prep

Nothing forgotten, nothing left undone.

Packing lists: What to bring, with a quantity for each item.
Prep lists: What to do before you go, each item with a due date.
Who is bringing what: Assign any item to someone on the trip.
Lists built for the trip: A packing list shaped by the destination's climate, the trip's length, and what you plan to do.
Checked off together: Everyone's progress on the shared list.

Money

Shared costs, settled fairly.

Costs in 11 currencies: Log a cost in US dollars, euros, pounds, yen, Canadian or Australian dollars, Swiss francs, Mexican pesos, Polish zloty, Brazilian reais, or Indian rupees, and Nomad keeps the original.
Totals in your home currency: Each cost is converted at a fixed rate for its currency. Live daily rates are planned.
Budgets by category: A budget for the trip and for each category, with progress as you spend.
Three ways to split: Split a cost equally, by exact amounts, or by shares.
Balances and settling up: A running balance for everyone, and the fewest payments that settle it.
Export to the books: Send the trip's costs to your accounting as expenses.

Memories

The story of the trip, kept and shared.

A journal with photos: A few lines and some photos for each day.
Tied to the places you went: Every entry can belong to a day and a place.
A memories timeline: Replay the trip as it actually happened.

Suggestions you can take or leave.

Suggested places: Places worth your time at a destination, by category.
Plan my day: An ordered day built from the places you saved.
A trip from a sentence: Describe it, such as five days in Portugal, food and beaches, and get a draft itinerary to shape.
Always a draft: Nothing AI suggests is added to a trip until you accept it.

On the web: The whole of Nomad in any modern browser, in light and dark, on any size of screen.
On your phone and tablet: A native app for iPhone^® and iPad^®, with widgets for your next departure, a share extension for booking links, and voice shortcuts.
On the road: The web app fits a phone screen, so the plan is one tap away. It needs a connection; offline use is planned.
On your calendar: Cadence can put the itinerary on your calendar, with each day's forecast.

Connected apps

Plugged into the apps you already use.

Each connection is optional and set per trip.

Courier: Finds booking confirmations in your mailbox, reads the dates, codes, and addresses, and sends each one to the review queue.
Cadence: Puts the itinerary on your calendar, warns you when a plan overlaps a meeting, and supplies each day's forecast.
Packed: Builds the packing list from a template matched to the trip: beach, ski, business, or carry-on only.
Trellis: Receives the trip's costs as categorized expenses.
Narrative: Publishes your journal as a travelogue.

For AI assistants

Ten tools. Your assistant can plan with you.

Nomad exposes the whole trip over the Model Context Protocol, so an assistant such as Claude can list your trips, create one, add an itinerary item, log a cost, or check a budget, and only on the trips you share with it.
